ETHOS FC

Character comes first

Ethos FC works with clubs, coaches, and parents to put character at the centre of youth football, one conversation, one touchline moment at a time.

Who are we here for?

However you're involved in grassroots football, there's a place to start.

The ETHOS framework

The framework behind everything we do

Every programme we run, for clubs, coaches, or parents, is built on the same five principles.

E

E _ Environment

The space around a young person shapes them as much as any coaching session.

T

TTrust

Character grows fastest where a young person feels safe to make mistakes.

H

H _ Honesty

Real feedback, given with care, builds more than empty praise ever will.

O

O _ Ownership

Young people who get to make their own decisions learn to trust their own judgement.

S

S _ Support

Support that doesn't depend on results is what makes it possible to keep trying.

Founder story

Why Ethos FC exists

Ethos FC was founded by Paul, a former educator of 15 years, after seeing the same pattern again and again: grassroots football has enormous potential to build character in young people, but the adults around it, clubs, coaches, and parents alike, are rarely given the tools to make that happen on purpose. Ethos FC exists to change that, one club, one coach, one parent at a time.

For clubs

For clubs

An annual partnership covering in-person coach CPD, a Culture Audit to evidence real cultural change, behaviour standards for parents, players, and coaches, and the Ethos Mark itself. Built for clubs who want proof of the culture they're building, not just a badge.

For coaches

For coaches

Inside The Dressing Room is a community for coaches who want to lead with character. It includes the five-week Ethos Foundations course, ongoing community access, regular professional development and a monthly live session. £19.99 a month, or £15 a month if your club is an Ethos partner club.

For parents

For parents

Four short sessions, watched in your own time, built on real research into how young people experience youth sport: the car journey, responding to mistakes, how much to say from the sideline, and being a secure base regardless of the result. £35, or £20 for the first 20 founding parents.

What do people say?

Grassroots Football Club

"The Culture Audit held up a mirror to things we'd never have spotted ourselves. Uncomfortable in places, but exactly what we needed."
